Radhakumari, a woman from rural India with a physical disability, had an impressive academic background. This included a Diploma, BTech, and MTech from IIT Madras. She was looking for employment during early stages of Covid-19 pandemic. During this period of extreme uncertainty in the job market, she had a high salary expectation, was unwilling to relocate and wanted to work from home.
That’s where EnAble India stepped in with the following; she was given awareness about the realities of livelihood through the Margadarshi workshop. She aspired for the right job based on the situation and prepared herself by accessing customised courses for persons with physical disabilities on Enable Academy, mock interviews, and communication and skills assessments.
The trainings have accelerated Radha’s learning paths through continuous actions. She took on the role of Academy Course Manager, handed diverse teammates and managed deadlines in a company-like environment. This real-world experience gave her the clarity on job realities and the confidence to begin her job search. It enabled her to achieve her goals.
