Share solutions, create impact

Project Discovery was born from the belief that ‘everyone is an innovator’.

It is a national platform showcasing simple, innovative assistive solutions created or used by persons with disabilities. Solutions are products or processes, shared as videos, that make daily life and work more accessible.

They are verified and added to an open-source, searchable database and on YouTube

Impact Story

Naman Patel, from Gujarat, is a person with a disability since childhood due to polio. In 2007, he began his career in the stock market and got a wheelchair for mobility. Although he bought a motorbike to travel, he still needed help to load his wheelchair onto the bike, limiting his independence. To solve this, Naman designed an innovative sidecar for bikes, equipped with a foldable ramp. This allows users to park their wheelchair and shift to the bike independently. The sidecar can carry two wheelchairs comfortably.

Naman’s invention gained popularity after his participation in Project Discovery in 2020. A father from Orissa traveled to Gujarat to get a similar vehicle for his daughter, enabling her to travel outside her home for the first time in 10 years. Naman’s creation, ‘Accessible Dhanno,’ won the ‘Solution of Solutions’ award in 2020 and was showcased at the Purple Fest exhibit in Goa.
